A multimedia exhibition about Christians in the Middle East organized by Edizioni di Terra Santa (the Publishing House of the Custody of the Holy Land) in collaboration with ATS Pro Terra Sancta on the occasion of the Special Assembly of the Synod of Bishops for the Middle East. It will take place in Rome from 10th to 24th October: texts, videos, photo reports will offer the possibility to know the Middle East and the Christian population living there.
The exhibition, to be inaugurated by the Custodian of the Holy Land and Chairman of ATS Pro Terra Sancta Father Pierbattista Pzzaballa, will be on display in Rome during the Synod and will then tour Italy all through the year 2011, in a touring exhibition hosted by Municipalities, Cultural Centres, dioceses and parishes.
The exhibition will be an opportunity to get to know the Christian side of the Middle East through up-to-date information about the Christian presence in each single Country, their life conditions, the relations – not always painless – between the believers of the great religions. The exhibition panels will explain the importance of the Synod and the issues discussed by the Bishops. The exhibition brings together the best shots of photographer Fabio Proverbio about Christians in three symbolic areas: the Gaza Strip, the Arabian Peninsula and Iran.
