context & Objective
In the book of Deuteronomy, God tells Moses to ascend Mount Nebo and look out over the Promised Land, even though he would never set foot there. On the top of the mountain, in fact, according to the Old Testament, Moses would have been called to himself by God.Mount Nebo in Jordan has become a religiously significant monument, revered by Christians, Jews, and Muslims alike. In 1932, the Custody of the Holy Land acquires ownership and begins archaeological investigations on the site, which have brought to light historically significant remains.Pro Terra Sancta assists the Custody by funding archaeological investigations, which are expected to disclose more surprising information. The Association is also dedicated to developing and conserving the sacredness of these sites, which are thus always ready to welcome pilgrims of all Abrahamic religions, providing a chance for meditation on Old Testament biblical stories and recreating the charm of Moses image.
