The goal of Pro Terra Sancta UK is to bring together people from all backgrounds, cultures and religions who wish to support the social, educational and cultural projects throughout the Holy Land.
The projects we promote represent a great opportunity to share cultural heritage of inestimable value. The Association is also committed to providing humanitarian aid to all those in need, operating with the desire to meet everyone regardless of all religious affiliation, social status and ethnic origin.

Our mission is to promote and implement projects for the conservation and enhancement of the cultural and natural heritage, to support local communities and help in humanitarian emergencies in the Middle East.Pro Terra Sancta.
Pro Terra Sancta Association is a non-profit organization registered in the appropriate list of the Italian agency for development cooperation and holder of a EuropeAid ID number of the European Commission. The Association specializes in the implementation of projects for the conservation and enhancement of cultural heritage that increase awareness of common roots in local communities and represent opportunities for sustainable development. The Association also promotes projects in the educational and social fields, and intervenes in support of humanitarian emergencies.
Pro Terra Sancta UK is a recognised charity in England and Wales that raises funds for educational projects and for the conservation and enhancement of cultural heritage in the Holy Land. Registered Charity No. 1178965
About us - Board of Trustees
TRUSTEES
- Tommaso Saltini - General Director Pro Terra Sancta Network
Tommaso Saltini holds a Ph.D. in Management and Finance and conducts research on impact finance, focusing on emerging markets in the MENA region. He is an adjunct professor at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, where he teaches Corporate Finance within the "UCSC International Curriculum" for international students. For over a decade, Tommaso has collaborated with the E4Impact Foundation, serving as the head of finance training.
- Christina Rogers - Chair Pro Terra Sancta UK Trustees
Christina Rogers was a founding Trustee of the UK Charity. With a background in Private banking and Client Advice, including as a Charity Investment advisor at Coutts, Christina's focus is on bringing strong governance controls to our structure and work. She is a Chartered fellow of the CISI and also a member of the CII. Having travelled extensively in the Middle East and as a practicing member of the Church of England, Christina's focus is on bringing communities together to share dialogue and understanding.
- Sir Stephen Bubb - Trustee Pro Terra Sancta UK
As well as one of our Trustees, Stephen is also Director of Charity Futures, and the Acting Director of the Oxford Institute of Charity. He was Chief Executive of the UK charity leaders representative body Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations (ACEVO) from 2000 to 2016. He received a knighthood in 2011 for his services to the voluntary sector.
- Guendalina Sassoli - Trustee Pro Terra Sancta UK
Guendalina Sassoli is an experienced Strategic Relations Manager with a strong background in non-profit organization management. Specializes in startup consulting, with expertise in nonprofit organizations, corporate social responsibility, communication, strategic planning, and major donor cultivation. Holds a B.A. in International Affairs from John Cabot University.
ADVISORY BOARD
- Baroness (Helen) Liddell
Baroness (Helen) Liddell is a Life Peer of the UK House of Lords and a valued member of our Advisory board. Elected as an MP she also served as Secretary of State for Scotland and British High Commissioner to Australia. Helen is a member of the Labour Friends of Israel and is a passionate advocate for Peace throughout the region. She brings critical insight to the charity operations in the UK.
- Antoine Mattar
Antoine is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He practiced in a number of Arab countries throughout his working life. He was a partner in Andersen (a global Accounting Firm) based in London from 1986 until he retired in 2001. He then became a Non-Executive Director of
Consolidated Contractors Group until 2022. He is now a Director of Consolidated Contractors International (UK) Ltd. He is a Knight of the Order of St. John. He served as Deputy Chairman of St. John Eye Hospital Group from 1996 to 2011. He is Chairman of Palestine Britain Business Council. He is also International Director of the International Arab Society of Certified Accountants.
- Fr. Luke Gregory
Father John Luke Gregory ofm was born in1958 in Sheffield, England. Before starting University he took an Applied Social Science course at the London Polytechnic. In 1980 he graduated in Philosophy and Theology from Kings College London, simultaneously being awarded a diploma in Classical Studies.
- Carla Benelli
Carla Benelli is an Art Historian Consultant for the NGO ATS pro Terra Sancta, involved in the project of recovery, site enhancement and involvement of the local community in the village of Sabastia, Palestine.The interview was realized on the occasion of the Study Trip “Learning by Experience”, (16-25 July 2019), organized by the Human Rights Centre “Antonio Papisca”, funded by the University of Padova, that involved the students of the Master’s Degree in Human Rights and Multi-level Governance.
- Gabriella Solaro
She studied conservation and restoration of paintings and frescoes in Rome and lived and worked in London for seven years. She currently divides her time between Milan, Rome and Apuglia and works as a High-Value Donors Fund Raiser for Pro Terra Sancta in Milan. Since last year she has been coordinating ProTerra Sancta UK.
